Wilder Coe LLP raise money and hopes for charity |
||
Wilder Coe LLP, the Stevenage-based business recovery specialists, are used to lending a hand – and not just from 9 to 5. They were the proud sponsors of a charity quiz night held at Stevenage Borough Football Club last month. Together with the Club – who provided the venue free of charge – and those who attended and supported the charity evening, Wilder Coe LLP helped to raise a grand total of £1,137 in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, the UK’s only national charity dedicated to all aspects of the UK’s most common life threatening inherited disease. Norman Cowan, an Insolvency Practitioner and Head of Wilder Coe LLP’s Business Recovery Department, was there to present the cheque. He says: “Considering the present financial climate, our thanks go to all who attended as well as the 20 financial sponsors who helped to make the event a success. This brings us one step nearer to finding a cure.”
News of the fundraising came in the same month as a report published by PricewaterhouseCoopers, claiming that 2009 could see charities experience a shortfall of up to £2.3bn. With an impending funding hole and no current plans for a Government handout, charities are bracing themselves for a tough year.
