Women Go It Alone

An increasing number of women are setting up their own businesses after becoming mothers, according the report produced by the London School of Economics and Yellow Pages. The report shows that many women choose to start businesses in the baby food and children’s clothing sectors.

Some of the reports finding were:

  • Three quarters of those questioned felt ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with their job.
  • A quarter started up their own business because they were frustrated working for someone else.
  • However more than a quarter say they struggle to make quality time for their partner.
  • The biggest bugbear for nearly half of working mums is lacking the time to keep up with the household chores!
