“I began working for Wilder Coe LLP, formerly Wilder Coe, to train for my ACA qualification. The firm’s professionalism, enthusiasm and dedication was clearly evident, I was also impressed by the approachable and friendly nature of the staff.
What I expected to be a daunting process, was actually not so.
Wilder Coe LLP’s audit team is highly sociable and I immediately felt that I became a valued member, working with managers and partners who were always open to queries and issues, taking an active interest in my development.
As well as maintaining an interest in my studies, Wilder Coe LLP actively challenged me to excel, and to get involved with on-going projects not directly related to audit. The firm was also very open and reactive to my needs, tailoring work-flows dependent on the stage of my training contract.
I have always found the firm to be a progressive and forward-thinking one, and understanding of the needs of its employees.
I remained at Wilder Coe LLP for 4 years. During my time I managed an audit portfolio, became a manager at a subsidiary office and had other responsibilities including dealing with the internal software systems of Caseware and Alphatax."

Training for the ACA qualification at Wilder Coe has proven to be an excellent career choice for me. Wilder Coe's client base is diverse, ranging from sole traders, partnerships, charities, solicitors and companies beneath the audit threshold to large companies and groups requiring audit. As a result, the experience gained was more than just in the audit field. Since moving on from Wilder Coe I have come to appreciate the grounding in double entry accounting that my training gave me, particularly from the accounts preparation work I was involved in. This base knowledge and experience really helps when dealing with more complicated accounting and business issues and the inter-relationships in account balances.
As well as accounting and audit, my training also covered company secretarial matters and I had detailed involvement in the preparation and submission of tax computations and CT600s to HMRC, which again expanded my skill-set and experience. I have been able to apply the knowledge gained in many subsequent situations.
Wilder Coe is a very friendly and sociable firm, keen to develop its people whilst providing high quality client service. The experience and knowledge of the senior staff really rubs off on the trainees. I am very grateful for the opportunity that Wilder Coe gave me to study for the ACA qualification and would definitely recommend the firm as a place to train and study.

“I joined Wilder Coe, now Wilder Coe LLP in 2000 directly from the University of Southampton, having obtained a BSc in Politics & International Relations, to embark upon obtaining my ACA qualification.
From the outset Wilder Coe was welcoming and enthusiastic, appeasing any concerns about a further three years of study while working.
One of the significant attractions and advantages of working for the firm that set me apart from a number of my peers was the prospect of working with a variety of clients within differing sectors, as well as covering all areas of an audit and not being pigeon holed within a particular sector or area of an audit.
The firm aligned my work experiences with the stages of my training, so throughout my contract, being a junior to running single person audits directly for audit partners while towards the end leading multi person audits for some of the larger clients. In addition I was afforded the opportunity to work in non-audit related fields and spent a six month secondment to the Insolvency Department.
I departed Wilder Coe having completed my training contract for a career in Commerce & Industry, I am now Finance Director for an International chain of hotels, without the experiences, advantages and training Wilder Coe offered me, I would not have been able to achieve what I have.”
