Celebrating our Payroll Professionals during National Payroll Week

Monday 7th September sees the Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) annual National Payroll Week campaign kick back into action for another year. Established in 2018, the CIPP is celebrating the payroll profession and ensuring it gets the recognition it deserves for keeping the UK paid.

This year, more than ever before, National Payroll Week focuses on payroll workers and how they benefit organisations. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, payroll professionals have been identified as key workers as they are essential for the UK economy and keeping our nation paid. They have had to adapt to the fast-paced introduction of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS). They’ve had to learn new legislation in record time, and always be on the ball with the constantly changing nature of the current COVID-19 situation.

With this in mind, we want to share with you how exceptionally proud we are of our payroll team at Wilder Coe who took on the challenges of CJRS head-on and supported clients through the furlough minefield with compassion and professionalism.

Robert Bradman, who heads up our Accounting Support office in Stevenage, says “I have nothing but praise for our superb payroll team who, throughout the most challenging of periods for the whole country, has continued to adapt at short notice to service our client’s needs.

As part of their ongoing service, they have supported clients in various ways including offering advice on the specific details of the job retention scheme, performing complex calculations to determine the quantum of the grants available and making the submissions to HMRC to ensure our clients receive vitally important funds from the Government at the earliest opportunity.”

So please join us in thanking our payroll professionals as they continue to work tirelessly to ensure that payroll calculations are correct and employees are paid on time.

If you need advice regarding the winding down of the furlough scheme or have a general payroll query, then please do not hesitate to get in touch. You can contact our payroll team on payroll@wildercoe.co.uk or 01438 758 100.
