Founded by Managing Director Neil Sebba and Angelina Harrison (Brand Director) in 2020, BNW Food Limited owns and operates the Tossed brand of 11 healthy food-to-go cafes in Central London. The estate currently comprises five stores in the West End, five in the City, and a delivery kitchen. As a tech-led business, customers coming into the store use tablets to purchase, and everything is freshly made to order.
Neil and Angelina made the brave move to acquire the Tossed brand from administrators after COVID impacted the company that had previously operated the brand in 2020. Two and a half years later, the company is proactively moving forward as people return to their offices and head into the thriving centre of London.
“A good lawyer friend suggested I arrange a chat with Chris Gent back in the summer of 2020 before we had even started trading.
As a new company, we knew we would ultimately need audit and accounting services. However, initially, we needed advice on whether our business was eligible for the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS), which turned out to be a pretty complicated matter.
We had a protracted experience in securing the necessary approvals. Wilder Coe supported us energetically throughout, and ultimately, their tenacity and reasoned arguments achieved a successful outcome for our company and our shareholders.
Wilder Coe is a good fit for us. Chris’s approach has always worked well for me, and I know they have the skills to deliver the precision work we require to complete the year-end and the technical nous demonstrated on the EIS work. I am an accountant, so the accounting work needs to be as concise and painless as possible to wrap things up. Jamie, Alex, Rebecca and the team always deliver an efficient process and the direct, practical support needed. We have a good working relationship, and I trust they will tell me if we’ve missed something.
I have recommended Wilder Coe to my peers and fellow business owners in similar situations and will continue to do so.
A business of our size wants an accountancy firm that can handle compliance work but also has the resources to give you specialist advice as and when you need it. These specialist areas come with a level of complexity, but it seems Wilder Coe has found a good balance to ensure it can support its clients well with these alongside the more straightforward compliance work.
Most importantly, when you have your own business, you want to work with people you like. All my dealings with the team have been enjoyable, and they are a lovely bunch of people.”
